Lena Zavaroni was a child actress and later a singer in Ireland who suffered for many long difficult years with anorexia. She made one last attempt to rid herself of the anorexia monster, she insisted doctors give her a partial lobotomy to remove the part of her brain thought to control the anorexia. Lena's weak and ravaged body could not survive the operation and she died shortly after. She is a tremendous loss and her talents are not forgotten. If only she could have valued herself as the public did.
