LINK BY LINK, CHAIN BY CHAIN,

PAPERDOLLS CONNECTING AGAIN AND AGAINÉ

My logic for not having a links page is simple: I am overwhelmed. I discover new sites on eating disorders constantly, cannot keep up with them, and assume I am way behind most in finding “the latest” sites anywayÉ but I’d like to offer some links just in case you haven’t seen these sitesÉ

www.msnusers.com/dissociated This site offers viewers a chance to buy eating disorder videos and ever since the eatingdisordervideos.com guys lost their inventory in a flood, it’s been difficult trying to find such things. You can also contact jenuine@ucla.edu directly and she’ll help you out! She’s a sweetheart.

www.geocities.com/edpetition This site is run by a friend of mine in Canada, Catherine, who’s own eating disorder story has been and continues to be quite a tale. She has entrusted me with some of her personal pictures and I am trying to find a tasteful, creative way to present them to you all soon.

www.caringonline.com This site is one of the first, back when Something Fishy and Mirror-Mirror were just getting off the ground, and it has an archive of news reports to be envied & looked through by all.

www.mindspring.com/~cwildes/ This site is also one of the original major sites written by a sister who just wanted to help everyone understand anorexia.

www.makaylashealingplace.com This site has the best argument against my site that I’ve ever come across, and it’s a wonderful site to spend your time on.

www.coloursofana.com/index.asp This site is a great, groundbreaking site regarding eating disorders and people of color. Eating disorders have long surpassed their reputation of the rich, white girls disease. I admire the web-mistress for addressing the unspokenÉ I try to do something in that vain with males and eating disordersÉ though I’m still waiting for a bold personal page by a male to surprise us all.

http://closetoyou.org/eatingdisorders/ This site does Karen Carpenter, her lethal battle with anorexia, and eating disorder websites all over, a beautiful justice. I think Karen Carpenter herself would appreciate it.

www.eatingdisorderresources.com EATING DISORDER RESOURCES This site includes a media section that updates weekly with any television specials/shows related to eating disorders that might be coming upÉ I recommend checking it weekly so you can watch what the television world has to say about this illness, ironically, made worse by television itself!

www.centerfordiscovery.com The Center For Discovery and Adolescent Change: TREATMENT CENTER FOR ADOLESCENTS, for BOYS and GIRLS, ages 11 to 19 with eating disordersÉ an amazing place, my beloved workplace, with three eating disorder facilities in Southern California.

The best memorial site is the one at www.something-fishy.org by farÉ but here is a link to more memorials: http://www.geocities.com/melgsunshine/eatingdisordersbreakthecycleinmemory.html

There are SO many more sitesÉ this is truly just the tip of the iceberg. I am not intentionally leaving anyone out, I have seen so many fantastic sites I can’t remember them allÉ I have faith in the eating disordered web-surfers that you will continue to hunt for sites way beyond this list and may you find all the great ones, too many to count! There are additional links here and there scattered among the pages of my website... - Love, Lisa

You should know my friend, Caron, pictured right, barely taking up any space in the chair (despite a larger-than-life personality) hated eating disorders.

She sought recovery. She sought websites and support groups for recovery, not for sickness.

She wanted desperately for reassurance that she was loveable no matter what she weighed.

She used the resources you can find among these links...

and she craved a life without the torture of anorexia.

This links page is dedicated to my old friend Caron, who managed to surround herself with links to the recovery world, even at the bottom of her own eating disorder.

May you make a choice to reach out for yourself too and discover what else the world has to offer besides anorexia and bulimia...

If any of us goes after recovery with even half the drive that fuels our monsterous eating disorders, there will be no stopping us.

If she were sitting here right now next to me, I know Caron would beg you to reach for something better than this, because you (and all of us) deserve a richer, happier, and freedom-filled life.

Blessed Be. ~Lisa
