In my opinion, one comprable example of the pressue to be unnaturally thin for men, just as the million examples of unrealistic female ideal beauty in our culture, lays within the musician community. Male rock stars tend to embody a beauty ideal that often promotes disordered eating. In my experience, several of the adolescent males with eating disorders, whom I've had the fun (and challenge!!) of working with, have been in rock bands or are solo musician/artists/rappers. Male actors and male models also embody an ideal body type (as with female artists and celebrities, of course) which more and more is becoming a very thin difficult body to achieve naturally standard.
